1. The service

KeyForge provides free, browser-based calculators, compatibility checkers and reference material for custom mechanical keyboard building. The service is provided as a static website. No account is required and none is offered.

2. Acceptable use

  • Use the tools for lawful personal, educational or professional purposes.
  • Do not attempt to disrupt, overload or gain unauthorised access to the site or its hosting.
  • Do not scrape the site at a rate that degrades it for other users.
  • Do not present outputs from these tools as certified engineering advice.
  • Do not use the site in any way that violates applicable local, national or international law.

3. Accuracy and disclaimer of warranties

All calculations are estimates derived from published standards, manufacturer specifications and community-established values. Manufacturing tolerance, product revisions and measurement error mean real components will differ from computed figures. The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that results are accurate, complete or suitable for any particular build.

4. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, KeyForge and its contributors are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages arising from use of the site or reliance on its outputs. This expressly includes damage to keyboards, printed circuit boards, switches, keycaps or other components, wasted purchases, and any personal injury arising from tools, soldering equipment, lubricants or ergonomic recommendations. You are responsible for verifying figures before spending money or modifying hardware.

5. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend and hold harmless KeyForge and its contributors from any claims, damages, losses or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the site in violation of these terms or any applicable law, or from your reliance on tool outputs in circumstances where such reliance was unreasonable.

6. Intellectual property

The site's original text, layout, code and compiled datasets are the property of KeyForge and are protected by copyright. You may use the outputs of the calculators freely, including in commercial build documentation. You may not republish substantial portions of the site's written content or datasets as your own work without attribution and permission. Product names, brand names and switch names referenced in the reference data belong to their respective owners and are used for identification only; no affiliation or endorsement is implied.

7. Third-party products and links

References to specific kits, switches, lubricants or sockets are descriptive, not recommendations backed by testing of every batch. We receive no compensation for any product mentioned. The site may contain links to external websites; we are not responsible for the content, accuracy or privacy practices of any linked third-party site.

8. Changes and termination

We may modify, suspend or discontinue any tool at any time without notice. We may update these terms; continued use after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. We will indicate material changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.

9. Governing law and dispute resolution

These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of the site shall first be attempted to be resolved through informal negotiation by contacting us at the email below. If informal resolution fails, disputes shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in the jurisdiction in which KeyForge operates.

10. General provisions

If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect. The failure of KeyForge to enforce any right or provision of these terms does not constitute a waiver of that right or provision. These terms constitute the entire agreement between you and KeyForge regarding the site and supersede any prior agreements.
